The first release candidate of what will become openSUSE 12.2 was released last Thursday. openSUSE 12.2 RC1 has quite a few updated packages and bug fixes since the second beta, which was released around the middle of last month.
As usual, you can either download a live CD with GNOME or KDE as the default desktop environment, as well as a DVD image with both GNOME and KDE and many other applications available.
One of the most notable changes is the inclusion of GRUB 2.0, the default boot loader. LibreOffice has been updated to 3.5.4.6. Chromium ships with version 22.0.1190, but Firefox remains as the default browser.
August 2nd is the scheduled date for openSUSE 12.2 RC2, and the final release will follow in the middle of September.
